Ohio Employers: Minimum Wage Notice Updated – Action Required
The Ohio Department of Commerce has announced an important update to the state’s Minimum Wage notice, and all employers should take note. Each year, Ohio adjusts its minimum wage based on inflation and cost-of-living formulas—and for 2026, a new official poster has been released that must be displayed in the workplace.
The new poster reflects the 2026 minimum wage, effective January 1, 2026, and includes updated rates for both non-tipped and tipped employees. Employers are required to swap out the older version and replace it with the latest notice to remain compliant with state posting requirements.
- Non-tipped employees: $11.00/hour
- Tipped employees: $5.50/hour
These changes are captured in the updated Minimum Wage notice, which carries a poster revision date of 11-25-2025. All Ohio businesses with one or more employees are required to post the updated notice in a clearly visible location where employees typically access required labor information (e.g., bulletin boards, break rooms, common posting areas).
Download the official Ohio Minimum Wage poster (PDF), or at Ohio Department of Commerce. Please ensure your workplace displays the most current version to stay compliant.
Why this matters: Failure to post updated labor notices can result in compliance issues during state or federal labor inspections. Staying up to date is a small step that avoids big headaches.
